Synopsis

“Sailom Kap Saengdao” (The Wind and the Starlight) is the story of Pim Parakorn, a superstar singer and actress in Thailand. She is currently filming an action drama titled “Secret Agent Crescent Moon.”
During filming, Pim is injured on the arm by a special effect. Choi, her personal manager, is very upset with the production team for causing the injury. The production also requires travel to New Zealand for filming. However, when the departure date arrives, the team is unable to book tickets. As a result, Pim must travel alone to New Zealand ahead of schedule to practice rowing.
According to the plan, Richard, the rowing coach, is supposed to pick her up at the airport. But he falls down the stairs and breaks his leg, making him unable to come. Brandon, the company owner, assigns Zen—a half-Thai, half–New Zealand coach—to pick her up instead. Due to a communication error, Zen fails to arrive on time, leaving Pim waiting for hours at the airport, which makes her furious.
While she is calling Brandon, a tour group mistakenly takes her luggage. Shocked, Pim blames everything on Zen. He takes her to a hotel, but she has neither a credit card nor cash, so the hotel refuses her stay. Zen then takes her to stay at his aunt Miang’s house in Arrowtown, where she runs a souvenir shop.
Pim calls Choi in Bangkok and explains everything. Choi then contacts Paul (Phirom Issarapakdee), Pim’s businessman boyfriend, and asks him to arrange a hotel. Pim then asks Zen to take her there.
Later, Pim meets Brandon and insists that she does not want Zen as her rowing coach. However, after seeing Richard still in a leg cast, she has no choice but to accept Zen as her coach.
Meanwhile, the crew and Choi manage to get tickets to New Zealand—but to Christchurch instead of Queenstown, where Pim is staying. When Pim learns they are about to arrive, she decides to take a boat out to practice rowing alone at night. Zen finds out and rushes to the lake—just as Pim’s boat capsizes. He saves her in time.
Later, Pim is contacted by the tour company and informed that her luggage is in Christchurch. She decides to travel there herself to retrieve it, and Zen offers to drive her. During the journey, they begin to understand each other better. Zen takes Pim to visit Lake Tekapo, whose beauty helps her relax and relieve her stress.
When they arrive, Pim cannot retrieve her luggage because the tour company is closed for a holiday. While waiting, Zen takes her sightseeing, and they spend time with Maori friends, enjoying themselves late into the night. Pim becomes happier and grows closer to Zen.
Choi and the crew finally arrive in Queenstown and ask Brandon about Pim. When Choi learns that Pim has been traveling with Zen, she is displeased. Upon Pim’s return, Choi pressures her about Zen and insists she cut off contact with him.
Paul then travels to New Zealand and visits the filming set, publicly declaring himself Pim’s boyfriend, which deeply hurts Zen.
During filming, Zen is assigned to drive the boat for a scene, but an accident causes Pim to fall into the water. Both Zen and Paul jump in to save her, but Paul reaches her first. Zen steps back, and Paul and Choi blame Zen for the incident. As a result, Zen withdraws from taking care of Pim.
Pim feels uneasy about everything and wants to reconcile with Zen. She arranges to meet him at 8 PM, but Paul overhears and deliberately invites her to dinner at the same time, causing her to miss the appointment. Pim later calls Zen’s house, but Kit—who secretly likes Zen—answers and refuses to pass along the message.
Pim goes to wait for Zen anyway, while Zen, unaware of her call, drives to rest at Lake Tekapo. When Paul and Choi cannot find Pim, they go to Aunt Miang’s house. Feeling guilty, Kit admits that Pim is waiting for Zen. They find Pim asleep by the lake, sick with a high fever, and quickly take her back.
Later, Lotto rushes to find Zen at Tekapo and tells him everything. Zen hurries to the airport to see Pim—but he is too late. Paul and Choi have already taken her back to Bangkok.
Determined, Zen follows Pim to Thailand, accompanied by Aunt Miang, Kit, and Lotto. In Bangkok, Zen tries to contact Pim, but Choi blocks him at every turn. Still, he refuses to give up and eventually manages to meet her.
Zen confesses his love to Pim—on the very day she is about to hold a press conference announcing her marriage to Paul. Pim finally tells Paul the truth: she loves Zen.
Although heartbroken, Paul accepts his defeat. In the end, Pim and Zen’s story concludes happily, as their love finds fulfillment.
